Loricariidae
Ancistrus
depends on what line you have, some only grow to about 7 cm, while others can reach about 15 cm.
Semi-aggressive, Peaceful, Community
Males should generally be kept separate, as they will fight with each other. However, you can keep one male with a group of females and it should work just fine. Most community fish are also great tank mates.
Omnivore
Will eat most foods available. They love flakes and pellets that have sunk to the bottom, and go crazy over any greens like cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, etc.
pH: 6.5-8.2 (pretty much anything within reason, as long as the parameters are kept stable)
Bottom
Egg-layer (Parental Care)
A male will convince a female to go into a cave, where he will trap her until she lays her eggs. The female will then leave and the male will fertilize and guard the eggs until they hatch.
60 fry
A cold water change, more flow in the tank, and lots of good food available (preferably greens like lettuce, cucumber, etc.
Wait a few days after the fry hatch for them to finish their yolk sack, then start feeding the same diet as the parents.
