Generally quite peaceful. Be careful when keeping males together though, either just have one, or keep at least 3 or 4. If there are only two males, one will likely chase and bully the other one, possibly to the point of death.

pH: 6.8-8, will do fine in most water if kept consistent. Prefer harder water if possible. Can live in both fresh and brackish water.

Live-bearing. Put one male with at least 2-3 females, make sure there is plenty of thick plant cover and/or small crevasses for the fry to hide in as the adults will eat them. Females can give birth every 20-40 days.

Feed the fry finely crushed flakes, besides that care is the same as the adults.
